Vonage Revisited

Posted by danny in Software, Hardware

I’ve been using Vonage for about a month now, and I am finally, very happy with the service.

The initial problems that I had with setup have completely disappeared, and the service has been flawless since then.

Call clarity has been wonderful, tough to tell from a standard land line, and I have come to the conclusion that most of the static that I head in the background is due to this craptacular quality of Angela’s land line. It’s crystal clear if I call anyone else. Just some old copper in PA I guess.

The call forwarding features work perfectly, and I routinely forward calls from my cell phone, to somewhere else in North America, and it always works without a hitch.

V-Access also works like a charm, Kerri, from the UK as able to call me as easily as she would someone living down the street from her, as is Angela who lives in PA.

Adding and removing other features via the online control panel is so simple, that even a simpleton like me can figure it out in about 30 seconds. I’ve said it many times, I am a simple person, and I like simple things.

In short, everything just works as advertised. The initial set up was a complete PITA, but after having talked to other people, I think that my experience was an isolated one, that was simply exacerbated by my generally bitchy dealing with customer service reps in general. I have a bad habit of getting my underoo’s in a wad whenever I have to call customer service about anything.

I work for a Vonage Dealer. I have a financial interest in making this company succeed. The opinions expressed in this review are in no way, shape, or form at all relevant to my employer’s point of view on Vonage, or the services that they offer.
